LEGALSHIELD SERVICES



LEGAL CONSULTATION SERVICES
We provide all members and their passengers with free, no obligation legal advice following an accident. If you are injured in a road accident you may be entitled to compensation, whether you are a driver, passenger, cyclist or pedestrian. Benefits under this section maybe limited to up to an hour of legal consultation and advice concerning the matter. Any additional time charged will be at the discretion of the Legal Service Provider and dependent upon the nature of the accident. If charged it will be at a preferred member discount rate whether the matter is claimable or not.

LEGAL CORRESPONDENCE SERVICES
Where a claim is approved all legal correspondence including letters and phone calls to third parties will be at no charge to you. If you do not have an approved claim and you still choose to pursue action then all correspondence will be charged at a preferred member discount rate.

LEGAL REPRESENTATION SERVICES
We provide all members with representation on a "No win no fee" basis. Our legal service providers don`t ask for money up front they work on a no-win, no-fee basis meaning you don`t pay your legal service providers costs or legal fees if you don`t receive any compensation. Our service providers have many years of experience in dealing with at fault insurers and will endeavour to obtain for our members the maximum level of compensation they deserve.

RECOVERY OF UNINSURED LOSSES
As a member you may be able to recover losses associated with an accident. Your Legal Service Provider dependent upon the circumstances may attempt to recover on your behalf any losses not already covered under a valid policy of insurance.

PERSONAL INJURY
As a member if you sustain a personal injury as a result of a motor vehicle related accident we will pursue a claim for compensation for personal injury on your behalf provided you meet the relevant legal requirements.

PASSENGER`S INJURY CLAIM
As a member if you are a passenger in a vehicle that has been in an accident or as a driver you have passengers in your vehicle that sustain injury as a result of an accident regardless of whether or not you are at fault, any passengers in your car will be entitled to free legal advice and support in relation to pursuing a claim for personal injury.
We provide all motorists and other road users with free, no obligation legal advice following an accident. If you are injured in a road accident you may be entitled to compensation, whether you are a driver, passenger, cyclist or pedestrian. 

MEDICAL EXPENSES
As a member if you require treatment as a result of your injuries, we will claim back all relevant treatment costs provided you have receipts and a relevant referral from your GP. 

RECLAIM LOST EARNINGS
As a member if you require time off work due to your injuries, we will claim this time back for you provided you have a relevant medical certificate covering any period of absence from your GP or hospital (subject to statutory limits).

COVERAGE IN ANY VEHICLE
As a member you are covered for an accident in any vehicle in which you are travelling either as a driver or passenger, provided you are lawfully permitted to do so.

YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRS
If you are having difficulty reclaiming the cost of repairs to your vehicle, your legal service provider may be able to help you claim these back from the at-fault driver, as long as they are insured. We can even organise a replacement vehicle whilst yours is being repaired.

COURT PROCEEDINGS
Membership provisions for the defence or pursuit of a civil or criminal matter is at a preferred member rate.

LEGAL SHIELD
If you or a spouse or partner is detained or arrested by a member of the police service in your state or territory, you have twenty four (24) hour legal emergency telephone access to a PPL duty officer or solicitor for assistance or legal advice and representation, if necessary.

OTHER LEGAL SERVICES
All other legal services not specifically provided for by this plan are provided at a discount rate of 15% off the Legal Service Provider's standard hourly rate for representation or service. This includes matters either pre-existing by their nature or currently on foot and being dealt with or requiring legal action as a result of a prior occurrence or arrangement.

A Preferred Member Discount rate means a discount rate of 20% off the Legal Service Provider’s standard hourly rate for the given legal service.

This plan costs $6.00/month plus (GST) or $72/per annum plus (GST).
